Cashnet Login Instructions

For Students

  1. Go to Cashnet.
  2. Enter your Cornell NetID and Password.

To Add Other Users/Payers

Once you have logged in, you can invite other users/payers to Cashnet by selecting your name from the top-left, above the menu, and selecting Send a payer invitation in the Payers section. Enter the payer's first and last name, email address, and set their access to see your billing statements and tax forms.

After you add the payer, Cashnet will send an email to the other payer to sign up with their Other User/Payer ID (user name), a temporary password, and a link to the site. Other users/payers (including parents) can then enter their own payment account information.

Students!

Adding your parents or other payers to your Cashnet account grants them permission to pay your bills on your behalf and to view and ask detailed questions about your bursar and CornellCard accounts.

For Other Users/Payers

Parents and other individuals that pay student bills must be set up as Other User/Payers by your student to access his or her monthly bursar and CornellCard billing statements.

FERPA

The student is financially responsible for his/her bursar account (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)). However, students may give parents and other users/payers online access to their accounts. Adding parents or other payers to your Cashnet account grants them permission to pay the student's bills on the student's behalf and to view and ask detailed questions about the student's bursar and CornellCard accounts.

Getting Started

Once the student invites you, you will receive an email with the subject “Your Student has created an account for you at Cornell University’s Cashnet.” The email will contain your payer ID (user name) and a temporary password and the link you will use to sign in and create your own password.

  1. Select the link in the email.
  2. Enter the Payer ID from the email for the user name.
  3. Enter the temporary password from the email.
  4. Select the Sign In button.
  5. Enter the temporary password from the email in the Old Password box.
  6. Create your new password in the Enter New Password box.
    1. Your password must have at least 8 characters including letters and 2 non-letters (numbers or special characters).
  7. Confirm your new password in the Confirm Password box.
  8. Select the Continue button.

If you plan to make payments from your own accounts (must be a checking or savings account with a U.S. financial institution), you can save payment account information under the Payment Methods section (select your name above the menu).

As an Authorized Payer you will:

  1. Receive monthly email notifications letting you know that the current statement is available to view online.
  2. Be able to print a copy of the bill.
  3. Have access to and be able to print prior month’s bills.
  4. View online payment history.
