Budget Tips
When budgeting for tuition and expenses, be sure to include the following tuition expenses billed to the bursar:
Important! Enrolling in the Cornell Installment Plan will not enroll the student in any meal plans or housing programs. To enroll in those services, please contact the Dining or Housing offices separately.
Please note, if your semester budget does not cover your tuition and fee expenses, you will be responsible for paying the difference between your budgeted amount and the actual amount billed to the bursar, minus any financial aid. If you're enrolled in autopay, the authorized payment amount will not automatically adjust if your plan doesn't cover your Bursar and/or CornellCard charges. You are responsible for reviewing your CASHNet statements and paying any remaining balance by the bill's due date. If you need help adjusting your Installment Plan, please contact us!
It is important that you budget your payments as accurately as possible, and include only expenses billed through the Bursar. Do not include off-campus living expenses not billed through the Bursar, because you may not be able to get a refund for the overpayment on your bill until the payment plan ends. See our refund policy for installment plan participants for details.
